Say "No" To Regular Table Salt
(Your Life Depends On It)
Table salt or refined salt has been chemically cleaned, purified and dried at an extreme temperature exceeding 648 degrees Celsius. The tremendous heat alters the natural chemical structure of the salt resulting in a multitude of health problems when consumed. After the refining process, what remains is 97.5% sodium chloride and 2.5% other chemicals, including toxic iodine and fluorine, as well as moisture absorbents. Moreover, table salt contains additives and extenders like sodiumferrocyanide, which is a poisonous substance; aluminum hydroxide; calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate are also added to enhance the pouring ability of table salt. Aluminum tends to deposit in brain tissue, making it a likely candidate for the development of Alzheimer's disease and over consumption of salt can lead to high blood pressure, diabetes, and anemia.

The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) and the American Medical Association (AMA) revealed that Americans are currently consuming high amounts of sodium, up to 6,000 milligrams a day. This is quite alarming because the recommended daily allowance for sodium ranges from 500 to 2,000 milligrams per day.

Our modern lifestyle has compounded this problem as we have gotten used to eating a lot of processed foods or food items loaded with preservatives. Generally, when you add salt to already salted food, your body takes in more salt than it can excrete. Thus, salt accumulates in the body and subsequently gets deposited in muscles and bony tissues. Table salt penetrates and hardens muscles, glands and blood vessels and forms exostoses such as arthritic growths, calculi and fibroids. It never becomes an integral, useful part of the body (as salt should). In fact, table salt is more of a poison than anything else and in order for your body to metabolize table salt crystals, it has to sacrifice tremendous amounts of energy.

Sodium chloride from table salt tips the body’s fluid and electrolyte balance which can cause severe, even fatal, neurological problems. Excess salt also overburdens the body’s excretory systems, particularly the kidneys. As the body tries to resolve the overdose of salt, water molecules must cleave the sodium chloride to split them up into sodium and chloride ions to help the body to neutralize them. However, the process does not proceed without repercussions: for every gram of sodium chloride that the body cannot dispose of it uses twenty-three times the amount of intracellular water to neutralize the salt. This results in cell dehydration while excess fluid accumulates in body tissues, which in turn can contribute to the development of arthritis and unsightly cellulite as well as kidney and gall bladder stones.

Most experts also believe that excess salt consumption is linked to a number of diseases such as duodenal and gastric ulcers, hypertension, osteoporosis, left ventricular hypertrophy, heartburn and even death. Ingestion of huge volumes of salt in a short time can be fatal - about 1 g per kg of body weight.

Because we at Natural Home Cures enjoy the tast of salt in our foods but know that it plays havoc on our health, we have found a friendly alternative to Soduim Chloride that lets us keep the taste we all love without sacrificing our health in the process.

Himalayan Crystal Salt
The friendly alternative is Himalayan crystal salt. This salt is formed in the soil. It has an intricate crystal and is comprised of eighty-four elements and substances that are considered essential for life. These include carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, sodium, magnesium, titanium, chromium, manganese, iron, calcium, chloride, silicon, copper, zinc, zirconium, iodine, platinum, and gold.

These minerals are in an ideal crystal matrix within the salt. Himalayan crystal salt is the only antioxidant that works throughout our entire system. In fact, a regeneration of the cell membranes in our body occurs when Himalayan crystal salt is consumed.

Expert cooks and gourmet chefs alike agree that Himalayan crystal salt has an exotic taste and an abundance of flavor compared to commercial table salt. While those in the medical field agree that Himalayan crystal salt can enhance our health, especially during exercise. Take the case of high-altitude hikers and mountaineers; they always ensure they have enough healthy salt to prevent hypothermia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

For pregnant mothers, an ample intake of salt can help develop a healthy infant with a strong immune system. If you haven’t tried supplementing with Himalayan crystal salt, you will be amazed how magnificent it tastes and how cost effective it is. You will also notice the change in your body’s resistance to illness and you will be shocked at how fast your health improves. All this from using good quality, organic Himalayan Crystal salt.
